Adding -al A common suffix is -al Adding -al changes a noun into an adjective. For example: nature becomes natural If the word ends in a consonant + y, change the y to an i before you add -al For example: history becomes historical

Adjectives with al Meaning: ´Relating to´ The suffix -al can be used to make adjectives out of nouns: instruction, a noun, becomes instructional, an adjective. EXAMPLES: -They aren´t natural writers. -We were watching a historical drama. -The mountain has been designated as a national park.

Adjectives with "ful" Meaning: full of, tending We use the adjectives with the suffix "ful" to show that an object has a lot of a certain quality. To make this adjective we add "ful" to a noun EXAMPLES: She´s also a successful songwriter. The flowers are very colourful. The girl is very beautiful. It is a very powerful weapon.

For example: joy becomes joyful There´s s spelling rule for adding the suffix -ful too.
