Vamos a repasar las reglas para formar el comparativo de superioridad de adjetivos cortos.

REGLAS DEL COMPARATIVO DE SUPERIORIDAD
Adjetivos cortos
Añadimos –ER a los adjetivos de una sóla sílaba:

Adjetivos cortos
Los adjetivos de dos sílabas que terminan en CONSONANTE +Y, se les añade -ER tras cambiar la -y por -i.

Adjetivos largos
Para formar el comparativo de dos sílabas que no acaben en -y, de tres o más sílabas, utilizamos MORE delante del adjetivo.

Utilizamos los adjetivos comparativos en este tipo de estructura: ____is/are ___-er/more ____ than____

ASPECTOS A TENER EN CUENTA
En esta parte de la unidad hay tres aspectos en los que debéis tener cuidado: 1º Fijaros en el número de sílabas del adjetivo para saber qué regla vamos a seguir para formar el comparativo. 2ºNo olvidar añadir “than” detrás del adjetivo. 3º Tener claro que añadimos –er o more al adjetivo para formar el comparativo. Cuando trabajemos el superlativo hay peligro de que mezcléis las reglas de cada uno de ellos.
EJEMPLOS
El rey es más generoso que la reina. The king is more generous than the queen. La reina es más egoísta que el rey. The queen is more selfish than the king.
REGLAS DEL COMPARATIVO DE INFERIORIDAD
Para formar el comparativo de inferioridad utilizamos LESS delante de todos los adjetivos sin importar el número de sílabas o cómo estén escritos.
The wolf is less hard-working than the dwarves.

El príncipe es menos tímido que los tres cerditos. The prince is less shy than the three little pigs.
The queen is more generous than the king.
The king is more selfish than the queen.
