Further Expansion

START

What to note in further expansion

It is the same with the simple one

Let's try a bit

Try to expand:(x+7)(x-1) Should be Easy right?

But how about this...

AND

(2x-3)(7x+2)

Basically, you can try to apply the method used in the simple expansion.

As usual, now its practice time. Please do Exercise 11.7 No. 3f, 4f, 5d and 5f.

You have 10 mins

And that's all

This slides have the necessary presentation for tomorrow lesson. So if you want to know what we are going to learn tomorrow, please continue to the next slide.

Do you remember on how to do simple factorising?

You can actually apply that knowledge for more complex form of factorisation

For example, this. pq-4p+3q-12

The answer for pq-4p+3q-12 (q-4)(p+3)

You can actually check your answer by expand the pair of brackets once more.

GO

Now do Exercise 11.8 no. 2f, 3f and 4f (You have 10 mins)

But... you know what... there is a form that can have a shortcut

Try to take a look on (x+y)(x-y) As you can see... This will yield

so...

What??

And that will give us the concept to do more complex formulae just like this:

WE can actually conclude that:

As usual, please do exercise 11.9 no. 3f and 4f You have 8 mins

Just remember, always back to the concept and that will help you solve harder problem Because math is just a pattern...

Hw, due Monday 10 jan 2022 Exercise 11.7 no. 4e and 5e Exercise 11.8 no. 1e, 2e, 3e, 4e and 5e Exercise 11.9 no. 3e and 4e
