CHARACTERISTICS OF PRINTED MATERIALS
Printed materials in teaching are far to disappear not just because the internet access is not available for every student around the world but also because when developing productive skills some learners can find that reading a printed book is friendlier than reading an e-book.
Reasons to use printed material in schools:
- Teachers and students often prefer print.
- Print is frequently more affordable.
- School districts may lack the Internet bandwidth to keep students online.
- Educators are pursuing a hybrid approach that uses electronic and printed content.
CHARACTERISTICS OF PRINTED MATERIALS
In short, the written press is a printed material that contains in itself many pedagogical potentialities. Its incorporation as a habitual resource in the classroom, together with the other means of communication, should mean rethinking in an innovative sense many of the goals, contents and activities of teaching, bringing it closer to the current reality in which students live (Véase Ballesta, 1992).
Benefits of printed materials
Students can take it with them everywhere and read it without internet access
With digital material students have to face technical problems, such as low batteries., failures and lost work
Benefits of printed materials
When educators teach children the use of printed materials it is really important to explain the meaning of words not only using books but also posters because this helps to expand vocabulary with their illustrations. When reading printed material, comprehension is better than when students read on a computer screen.
