How to improve your writing
First of all look at this example of a student's writing. What do you think?
October 10th 1914 Dear diary,I have been in the trenches a week now. Life here is very bad. I am cold all the time because I can never dry my clothes. In the morning, they give us rum to heat us up. We all drink it quickly. Then we have breakfast. We are very hungry. We eat quickly because if we take our time the rats come and eat our food. Last night the Germans attacked. The general told us to go over the top to no man’s land. We shouted as we went over the top, it gave us courage. I was scared. A soldier was shot in front of me. I could not help him. I am sad, he was only 18.
what do you think? Is this a good example? Can it be improved? How?
