Questions

There are two types of questions: Simple questions Did you visit your mother last weekend? Yes, I did. Information questions What did you do yesterday? I went to walk the dog.

For example

Q: What movie did you watch yesterday?A: I watched a horror movie called It.

We use what to ask for information about things, people and situations.

For example

Q: When did the dinner party end? A: It ended past midnight.

We use when to ask about a date or when something happened (or will happen).

We use where to ask about places (cities, countries, directions).
