What is a Hard Disk?

A hard disk, also referred to as a disk drive or hard drive, is a magnetic disk for storing computer data.It uses magnetic storage to store and retrieve digital data using one or more rigid, rapidly rotating platters coated with magnetic material.

Ethernet cards

There are 4 types of hard drives

  1. SAS Hard Drive
  2. SCSI Hard Drive
  3. IDE, ATA and PATA hard drive
  4. SATA and SATA 2 hard drive

SAS hard drive, SCSI hard drive, IDE hard drive, ATA, PATA; as well as the SATA and SATA 2 hard drive. And those external devices such as flash memories, sd memories, etc. Currently we can already say that there is a wide variety of hard drives for computers, mini computers, tablets, cell phones, etc. But there are various components, measures and capabilities. It includes disks known as external memories such as those concentrated by usb, micros sd.

SAS

They are very useful for use in servers, they can connect up to 6 or 7 meters away and depend on up to 24 computers.

SCSI

It is a very small interface and requires a controller to operate.

IDE, ATA & PATA

Each type of hard drive means: IDE.- It is the abbreviation of integrated electronic component. ATA.- It is short for advanced contact technology. PATA.- It is the abbreviation of advanced parallel technology

SATA & SATA 2

SATA.- Its meaning is advanced contact technology. And it is characterized by operating at an approximate speed of 150 megabytes per second.

SATA 2 .- This device is of better capacity because it works with up to 300 megabytes per second, which translates into its response time is excellent. SATA HARD DRIVE 2 The difference with SATA is that it works at 300Megabytes/second.

Extension cards

Sound Card

The sound card (or audio board) is an element of the computer that allows you to manage the input and output of the audio. This is usually a driver that can be inserted into an ISA (or PCI for newer) slots. However, motherboards that include their own sound card are becoming more and more frequent.

Video Cards

A video card (also called a graphics card, etc.)is an expansion card which generates a feed of output images to a display device (such as a computer monitor ). Frequently, these are advertised as discrete or dedicated graphics, emphasizing the distinction between these and integrated graphics.

Ethernet Card

Sometimes simply called an Ethernet card, an Ethernet network card is a piece of hardware used to connect an Ethernet cable to a computer or other electronic device. This card can be quite small, and usually features an Ethernet port and some way for the card to be connected to a device.
