Learning Objective :
Content Objective :
Students will be able to name and identify the different color schemes. Students will also be able to apply the color schemes by creating a magazine cover that implements one of six color schemes.
Students will learn about the six different color schemes to better their understanding of the color theory.

Hue
Hue
Hue means color. When it is used in a colour name, it indicates that a modern pigment has been used instead of the traditional one.
Tint
Tint
A tint is a mixture of a color with white, which increases lightness
Shade
Shade
A shade is a mixture with black, which increases darkness.
Monochromatic
Monochromatic scheme
Monochromatic colors are all the colors of a single hue. Monochromatic color schemes are derived from a single base hue and extended using its shades, tones and tints.

Analogous
Colors are groups of three colors that are next to each other on the color wheel
Complementary
Complementary
Complementary colours are pairs of colours that contrast with each other more than any other colour, and when placed side-by-side make each other look brighter.
Split Complemtary
Split Complementary
A split-complementary color scheme takes up a base color and two secondary colors
Double Complementary
Double Complementary
When two hues (colors) are next to each other on the color wheel and are paired with two adjacent hues on the opposite side.
Triadic
Triadic
SImilar to the split complementary color scheme, with an equal distance between all colors. All three colors are distributed evenly around the color wheel, causing there to be no clear superiority of one color.

Create a magzine cover on Canva that implements one of the 6 color schemes disscused in class today .
