CONCEPTO

El second conditional es un tipo de condicional que se usa para hablar sobre hechos que son poco probables que sucedan en el futuro. Usamos el second conditional para hablar de situaciones que son irreales en el presente; por lo tanto, podemos describirlas como imaginarias y es improbable que ocurran.

Si tuviera mucho dinero, viajaría a 10 países diferentes.

No tengo mucho dinero.

Podemos cambiar el orden de la oraciòn sin alterar el resultado: I would help you if I had time / Te ayudarìa si tuviera tiempo.

Es posible utilizar la palabra could en vez de would : if I had a screwdriver, I could fix the TV. Si tuviera un destornillador, podría reparar el televisor.

Como resultado se usa el verbo auxiiar WOULD para afirmativo y el WOULDN´T para el negativo + la forma base del verbo.

Aquí se utiliza el pasado simple de los verbos.

If she worked as an actress wouldn´t live in this town. Si ella trabajara como actriz, no viviría en este pueblo.

THIRD CONDITIONAL

Este tipo de condicional se utiliza para pensar en situaciones del pasado que no ocurrieron e imaginarnos qué resultados hubiesen tenido.

EXAMPLE: If you had put yeast, the cake would have risen. / Si hubieras puesto más levadura, el pastel habría subido.
