USE

  • We use the tag questions to confirm our questions or just as a comment.

form

  • How is it formed?
  • It is simple if our sentences are affirmative the tag question is negative, we must put the auxiliary verb that we put in the sentences, but in the opposite way.

examples

  • She is my sister, isn't she?
  • We went to the beach two years ago, didn't we?
  • Michael is not my neighbor, is he?
  • My mommy can cook Italian food, can't she?

PAst Perfect

Form

Use

Is had + pastparticiple.

It is an action in the past and it occurred before another action in the past.

Examples

I had studied before I started classes.

By 6:00 my son had played in his room.

I hadn't eaten when my sister called me.

Marcos had already been home when his mother arrived.

We use to say which action occurred first, obviously all in the past tense.

Past Perfect & Simple past

First sentences is in past perfect ands second is sin simple past.had + past participle and after is Subject + ver in simple past.

Examples

I had cooked rice when I forgot to add salt.

By the time I played on the computer, I had already missed my classes.

Her students had gone, when the teacher arrived at the school.

My parents had married before they began their studies.
