When going through the questions on the PSAT, Seguinot finds it most helpful to do the ones you know first, take a three to five minute break, and then complete the more difficult questions. "Staying calm through the test is key, so taking a small break can be very beneficial," she said.

The ACT has four sections. Each section has a very tight time limit, so it is difficult to complete them. Seguinot believes that speed is the key to getting a good score on the ACT. "On the ACT, you don't have time to overthink. You just have to answer to the best of your ability," she said.

Like the PSAT and SAT, the AP Computer Science Principles exam is created by the College Board. Leading up to the exam, Seguinot suggests watching the AP Classroom videos and doing review quizzes to prepare. "When you take the exam, try to keep a steady pace," she said.

Unlike the ACT and most College Board tests, the FSA Math test has a more reasonable time limit. For this assessment, Seguinot feels that it is important to take your time and work out each problem to the best of your ability. "For this one, you don't have to rush. You'll probably even have time to go back and check your work, which is great," she said.

The FSA Science assessment is taken in eighth grade (with potential retakes in later years) and tests middle school science knowledge, like basic biology and physical science. "Before this test, I just studied all of the materials I had throughout the year. If you get stuck, the process of elimination is helpful," Seguinot said.
