What our school has to offer.

This school has a brilliant sixth form which caters to all students needs. The sixth form block dedicated soley to our year 12 and 13 students. Study spaces in a variety enviroments such as the library, canteen, and independant spaces in the sixth form building. Classes have less students, allowing for more time spent on a student individually. The school offers a wide vairety of subjects which is bound to interest many.

Each class has 5-15 students at maximum, this allows for more one to one time for every student with their teacher With a wide variety of different subjects from Level 3 to Level 1 with quality teachers every single student will get the highest possible grades they can achieve With different level students across the whole of sixth form, individuals are all able to support each other teaching them all to become better young responsible adults.

Atmosphere

With the newly refurbished canteen available soley for sixth formers, it's used as a place for eating, socialising and more importantly learning. Alperton Community School is proud of its diveristy and everyone is welcoming to learning new cultures, religions and ethinicities. It is an all inclusive school which accepts all backgrounds and sexual orientation. New students and teachers alike state how they easily fit in to the school.

Opportunities

IN school Opportunities

The school provides many opportunities not just academically. It provides for us to gain skills such as leadership and working as a team. Roles included are : Libray leaders, Prefects, Study supporters and many more. By doing this the school allows for us to gain more experience and not just focus on our academics. In additon there are Enrichment opportuinites in which we can learn more creative skills. These include: Knitting, Cooking, Greek mythology classes, Dance and music, Arts and Crafts and many more.

This is a piece of work that belongs to a student. Muna Pun: "Knitting is frustrating at first but it's fun once you get the hang of it."

OUtside of school Opportunities

The school also provides links and help to gain opportunities outside of the school enviroment. Our teachers would constantly send applcation to a variety of workshops, work experiences, events and more. Earlier this year the whole of year 12 was provided to do NCS. Students went on trips and got to do bonding experiences and meet new people. Furthermore it lead to the social action projects which students would help the community in many ways. Some groups donated to foodbanks and others would raise awareness for social issues. In addition our sixth form is one of the six in the entire country working with Arrival education. Arrival education caters to young people, providing workshops and opportunities to meet successful people in the workforce .

Assesment Information

Our school prioritises our exams and grades and the results show it pays off. Our Ofsted report states that the school is "Good with Outstanding leadership and management."

Careers after school

Alperton Community School prides on having wonderful grades and helping the students achieve those grades. We also give other opportunities in regarding to what students wish to do after school. Whether it's going to university, apprenticeships or getting jobs. Our school has links with universities and professionals. Every other Wednesday, alumni visit the school to give career talks and help our current students on how to achieve their goals. It is always a variety, from medical students to business owners, allowing students to have many options. We also have a careers advisors in which students can book an appointment and gain help and information to what they wish to do in the future.

General Support

Our school has an entire safe guarding team in place to help any student with any of their worries and problems. The safeguarding officers are all trained to handle any problem a student may face.However every teacher in school is willing to help out a student. Furthermore, there are plans in place to help to prevent situations from occuring. Concern boxes in front of year offices in which students could anonymously share their concerns. The sixth form leadership team, focusing on yr 12 and yr 13's problems. Any worry or thought is carefully considered and solved in discreet allowing students to feel more comfortable.

Our school also has a fantastic website in place to help support students in any areas. Academic resources are put in place as well as new and exciting opportunities to take part in. Parents and students alike can read the countless information packs in place in order to help them understand more about their child's education.
