Mechanorreceptors (mecanorreceptores) They are small structures located inside our muscles and bones that inform our brain about the posture and movement of our body.
Velocity and movement It is easier to keep the balance when we are standing still than when we are in movement. Also, if we change the direction and velocity of the movement it is even more dificult to keep the balance. A gymnast that is landing on the ground after a quick movement is putting in practice his balance.
our base (nuestra base de sustentaciÓn) It is easier to keep in balance when we are on a big and stable surface than when we are not. For instance, when we use ice skating shoes or stilts (zancos), our base decrease, then our balance is worse.
Ear receptors (receptores del oido) Small organs in our inner ear that help us to keep our body in balance.
The sight (la vista) The sight is a key element to keep the balance, because it gives us a reference point. It is more dificult to maintain a posture with our eyes closed than opened.
WHAT IS BALANCE El equilibrio es la capacidad de mantener una posición o postura en estático o controlada en movimiento.
