What are Sustainable Development Goals ?

• The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a set of 17 goals set by the United Nations and adopted by 193 countries in 2015. Through sustainable (economic, environmental and social) development, their common goal is to create a better world and a better life for all by 2030.
• Central to the United Nation’s agenda is to deliver upon the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) over the next 15 years. The goals are to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure prosperity for all as part of a new sustainable development agenda.
• By integrating SDG education and engagement into a platform we can help millions of children in the world understand what these goals are, why they are important, and how children themselves can engage in achieving them.

The main features of sustainable development are ;

• it respects and cares for all kinds of life forms

• it improves the quality of the human life.

• it minimises the depletion of natural resources.

• it enables the communities to care for their own environment
