THE NHS LONG TERM PLAN
aND CHANges to approaches in health care
What is the purpose of the NHS long term plan?
The NHS Long Term Plan aims to treat, but more importantly, to prevent people from getting ill at all. They want to ensure patients get person-centred care and get it fast so that less pressure is placed on A&E's. To do this, they create more service channels like urgent treatment centres which have a growing attendance, growing faster than A&E attendances (greater patient traffic).
How does the NHS long term plan aim to Change approaches to healthcare?
The NHS Long Term Plan mentions many ways they plan to change approaches to healthcare such as: improving healthcare outside the hospital (e.g. primary medical and community health services); providing better care for major health conditions (e.g. cardiovascular disease, respiratory conditions and diabetes; giving support to those admitted to hospital with an alcohol/smoking addiction (e.g. Alcohol Care Teams); supporting older people through more personalised care, stronger community and primary care services (e.g. managing chronic conditions, care plans); and making digital health services a major part of the NHS so that patients can access online GP consultations.

CERVICAL SCREENING CAMPAIGN
hOW dOES IT SUPPORT THE preventative agenda within the NHS long term plan?
The poster tells women not to ignore cervical screening invites and to "book an appointment with your GP practise now" also they use bold, colourful text to show urgency and importance. This campaign emphasizes the screening test's preventative benefits by stating that it can stop cancer before it starts meaning women won't have to experience any of the effects of cervical cancer. It motivates women to watch out for this disease by informing them that "two women die every day from cervical cancer" and this emphasizes how dangerous cervical cancer is. Overall, the poster supports the preventative agenda by aiming to prevent cervical cancer in order to reduce the amount of deaths as much as possible.
