Introduction
Breast cancer remains the most important cancer among women worldwide. The disease itself and treatment may have a profound impact on the patients' psychological well being and quality of life. Depression is common in breast cancer patients and affects the therapeutic effects as well as prolongs the duration of hospital stay.
Objectives
Effectiveness of music therapy on depression
Effectiveness of music therapy after radical masectomy
Effectiveness of music therapy on duration of hospital stay
Methodology Results
After Music Therapy, depression scores were lower than the control group in the three post tests with significant differences.
120 subjects randomly allocated to 2 groups. Questionnaire, pre and post-tests and duration of hospital stay.
Conclusion
Reduction of hospital stay of the experimental group
Music therapy has positive effects on improving depression
