It all started with a king...

I am King James I of England and you must pray in my church!

We're Pilgrims and we want to pray in our church!

So, the Pilgrims left England and went to America.

They sailed on the Mayflower...

Winter's near. We're almost out of food.

The first winter was very hard...

We'll have to work harder!

Let's cut down the trees and build houses!

There's nothing but rain or snow!

If we don't get help soon, we'll all die!

I miss my home!

Then, one day in spring, the Indians came...

We'll show you how to plant corn our way!

Welcome, new friends, we're here to help you!

We put the fish when we plant the seed to make the soil richer.

We'll show you how to hunt for deer!

Thank you, friends!

And where to find berries and nuts!

Thanks to the Indians, the Pilgrims had enough food to eat and homes to sleep.

Thanks to you, dear friends, we're not hungry any more!

And, we'll never be!

Let's pray and eat now!
