Redesign Webpage

Start by clicking 'Edit' button on the top. Then let your creativity flow by redesigning the web parts! (Section 3)

Note: If you don’t see Edit, you might not have permissions to customize the site navigation. Your must ask page admins (Kh.Mayuree) to give you the access.

Add sections, columns and web part

We can create attractive and organized layouts by adding sections with columns on SharePoint pages.

  • Go to 'Edit' mode
  • Hover mouse below title area of the page to the far left of an existing web part.Notice a sign with a tool tip says 'Section Layout'
  • Under Section layout, you can select the number of columns you want to add or set up the page layout. Try exploring all layouts to find what fits your page the most.

Add sections, columns and web part

  • To change an existing section, go to the page where you want to change a section > 'Edit mode'
  • Choose options from the left hand side menu bar
  • To delete section, click the bin icon on the bottom tab.

Add webparts

When you add a modern page to a site you add and customize web parts, which are the building blocks of your page. You can add text, images, files, video, dynamic content, and more using the web parts listed.

  • Click between the each webpart to add element block

Here are some examples of web part

Add images

To add image, select 'Image' web part.

Click 'Browse image' then select image from the source you prefer

Tips for adding image: If your image is too large to upload directly into web part, try upload into Site Assets first.First, go to Site contents > Site Assets your files

Click 'Browse image' then select image you have just uploaded

Go to SitePages, then upload your pictures

Add videos

You can add videos from two sources: Youtube and Stream To add video from Youtube: Select Youtube from webpart > Add video

Then paste URL into the box on the right side panel

Go to web.microsoftstream.com > Upload video

Add videos

Upload video and edit details (Name, description,...)

Go to my videos > Select on prefer video > Share

Copy URL then paste it on SharePoint

Once the video is uploaded, click Publish

Add PowerBI

Go to app.powerbi.com > Open your report > Click File button > 'Embed Report' > 'SharePoint Online'then copy the given URL

To add image, select 'PowerBI' web part.

Click 'Add Report'

Navigation Tab

The default Navigation Tab is a quick access to links across the subpage, which consists of the followings

  • Home
  • Documents – Document explorer, place to upload documents
  • Pages – List of pages created in subpage
  • Site Contents - site contents allows you to view and manage all of the elements (libraries, pages, and subsites) on the site
  • Recycle Bin
Please note that all tabs can be edit or remove by simply click ‘Edit’ except for Recycle Bin

Add/Edit Navigation Tab

Click ‘Edit’ at the bottom of the left-hand menu.Note: If you don’t see Edit, you might not have permissions to customize the site navigation. Your must ask page admins (Kh. Mayuree) to give you the access.

Hover over the location in the menu where you want to add a link then click ‘+’ Fill URL into address bar to add a link to any items, internal or external sites are allowed. Then fill the name of URL into Display name bar.

If you want to edit links within navigation tab, click ‘…’ on the side then click ‘Edit’

Tips! You can create new page to the site then pin the link up to the navigation bar as well!

Navigation Tab:Site Page

  • All pages created are located in Site Page section.
  • You can view the library at Pages menu on the sidebar.
  • You can also delete, edit and duplicate pages

Navigation Tab: Add documents and files

  • All documents are located in Documents section.
  • You can upload new files, photos and media contents on the Document menu
  • To add new documents or files, click 'Upload' or simply drag files into the folder

Navigation Tab:Site Contents

  • All sites assets, document and pages reside inthe Site Content.
  • Site Content can also be viewed under then 'Site Contents'

Create new pages and posts

In the top right of web page you can create new page and new post to your site. All of the pages and posts reside inside the Site Content library.

  • Page is a blank canvas or a means to display content on a given site. You can create as many as you wish.
  • News Post page is a special type of page where it can be used with News web part.
Start adding page by click New > Select Page or News Post

When click on create pages or news post, choose a page template to start with.

Then you can add title, edit web part and more

Tips

  • You can create a page for indicator elements then pin into navigation tab for a quick access
  • Files can be add by drag and drop into documents library
  • You can remove 'Site Content', 'Page', 'Documents' from the navigation bar as you can also get an access from 'Setting' > Site Content
