Topic: Past Continuous Tense Objectives: To use the Past Continuous Tense to talk about activities in progress at a specific moment in the past. Context: The lesson is aimed for high-school students or adults learning a foreign language
Activity 3 : Teacher gives students a piece of text with a context related to the use of past continuous activities. Students work in pairs discussing the text. They read, ask and answer questions related to the text given. They are encouraged to used the structure learned and speak in the target language. Activity 4: Communicative speaking board. The teacher give students a game called "Speaking Board" with random questions made in the Past Continuous that they have to ask each other and answer taking turns as they advanced in the game. The winner is the one that answers all the questions.
Description of the activity
Activity 1: To introduce the Past Continuous, the grammar structure in affirmative, negative, questions and time expressions. Provide examples using the target language, and translating it to the native language. Have students translate other examples from L1-L2 Activity 2: Socialize the answers in the class. Have students listen and repeat the correct pronunciation and intonation of the sentences worked in the previous activity.
