i and my classmates got this awesome opportunity to visit awan sports, experience their production processes, and learn about their working environment.

our study trip relates to industrial sociology which means a sociological analysis directed at institutions and social relationships within and largely controlled or affected by industry.

Introduction

Awan sports is a private limited company located in Sialkot, Punjab. Awan sports started as a trading company in 1982. started manufacturing in 1988 and have 5 different units with different products and capabilities. they aim to have growth with technology, automation skill labor force production, enhance productivity, and become brand leaders in the sports industry.

area of study

in case of any injury, workers were provided with medical care. one of the employees told us about how once he got injured while polishing and the company help him in providing the medical service. moreover, awareness on diseases and how to prevent them were provided to the workers in the form of posters.

medical facilities :

the working area in the company generated a very friendly ambiance and the employees seemed to have good communication with each other. most of the people I saw were completely devoted to their work. the employees we interviewed told us that they enjoyed working there and were completely satisfied.

behavior with each other :

the business organization had a cafeteria that we didn't visit but workers enlightened us that they prefer bringing their lunch from home. the reason for that could be either they don't enjoy the food offered to them or they are highly focused on saving money.

hygenic food :

workers were separated into different groups that performed specific tasks appointed to them. this showed specialization of workers which leads towards good quality products and a high level of productivity.

division of labour

After interviewing a bunch of works they all ensured us that they felt secure while working in awan sports and had no such security issues. e.g in the case of fire, fire extinguishers were placed in different parts of the property.

security :

Awan sports encouraged women to take part in their labor force and held no discrimination in gender. I saw some elderly women as well who have been working in the company for 10 years and above which indicates that they have been open to having female employees from the start and not just now. however, they revealed to us that they allow females to do tasks that reflect household tasks e.g sewing. according to me if women are provided good training they can step up and face more challenging tasks that can help improve their confidence and income.

attitude to working women

as the world is evolving bringing new and innovative methods to have improved production processes. the company should have proper training offered to both men and women, to utilize our countries labor force at its full potential. hence, this would lead towards an increase in living standards and individuals' purchasing power. the overall experience of this trip was very informative as we saw the production process of goods in real life rather than just reading in books.
