We would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the traditional territories of the people of the Treaty 7 region in Southern Alberta. The City of Calgary is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta, Region 3.
How can students decrease human and wildlife conflicts in the Kananaskis area through planning, designing, and engineering a wildlife crossing?
 Learning Outcomes 
The Government of Alberta introduced the Kananaskis Conservation Pass in June 2021, with the fees being used towards conservation, public safety, services, and facilities within the area. In promoting conservation, the primary focus has been on protecting habitats and reducing wildlife conflicts. 

Students in Grade 6 will research the Kananaskis and surrounding area to create a proposal and design a wildlife crossing to implement across a highway for a native animal of their choice.
