Who was the real Bathsheba Sherman ?

The most haunting spirit in the movie is the suspected witch Bathsheba sherman.

Born in 1812 in Rhode island.

Married to Judson Sherman in 1844 by a local justice of the peace.

She filled perfectly her job as a housewife while her husband worked as a farmer in their own land.

They had a son together named Herbet L. Sherman in 1849. They had 3 other children who unfortunately didnt lived more than 7 years.

Unfortunately there's no proof that Bathsheba was a real witch BUT, folklore remains !

Suspicons grew when an infant was reported dead, when the body was examinated it was determined that the mortal wound was caused by a large sewing needle that has been impaled at the base of the baby's skull.

How did this supposed witch died ?

According to "The Conjuring True Story" we discovered that Bathsheba died on May 25 in 1885 four years after her Husband.

Various articles on the internet will tell you that her body "literally turned into stone" when she died or that she passed away of a bizarre form of paralysis that scared doctors (nothing more than rumors or internet legends).

Her Grave is located in the historic cemetery in downtown Harrisville, Rhode Island.

The house's connection to the spirit of Bathsheba Sherman came at the suggestion of investigators Warren. Carolyn Perron told them that one day she had been lying on the sofa and suddenly felt a piercing pain in her calf, and her muscles began to spasm. The Warren immediatly thought of Bathsheba because of her story of the murder she's suspected of (the infant that has been killed with a needle in his skull) and the fact that rumors remains that the witch died due to a bizarre form of paralyzis.

They conclude to say that Bathsheba took the sewing needle that serve her to kill the infant in her past into her afterlife to attack Carolyn.

When did the Enfield haunting started ?

The Conjuring true story tells us that Peggy Hodgson said that the Haunting of Enfield home began on the evening of August 30, 1977, on that night, Janet (her daughter) told her that her brother's bed was wobbling for no reasons. The next evening, Peggy heard a loud noise coming from upstairs, she quickly ran to the Children's bedroom and saw a chest of drawers moving toward the door, concluding that a mysterious force was trying to trap her in the room.

In conclusion we could say that conjuring both hit the british and international mind with the story on one hand and the realism of the fx on the other. We could take for example all Fan Arts that as been made from the film. Or simply take some movie poster that other country than UK made.

We could also take for exemple the box office of other countries to see if the movie worked very well in other place than UK.

As we can see on the right picture, we can deduce that the movies Conjuring worked very well in other coutries like in America where the movie made a 672 559 873$ profit and in comparaison, a 1 923 939 688 $ profit in the world, so we can clearly say that the film worked as well internationally as in UK.
