ACTUAL STATISTICS
According to the latest ILO estimates, there are 1.4 million work-related deaths each year in the Asia and Pacific region out of a total of 2.3 million people worldwide. This means that the Asia-Pacific region accounts for 70% of fatal work-related accidents and 60% of work-related deaths globally.

This is not a small problem, especially for workers. We need to take measures to overcome and minimize the causes leading to the above problem
Factory and unsafe activities overview
FACTORY UNSAFE ACTIVITIES OVERVIEW
A factory is a manufacturing plant or a production plant is an industrial site, often a complex consisting of several buildings filled with machinery, where workers manufacture items or operate machines which process each item into another. They are a critical part of modern economic production, with the majority of the world's goods being created or processed within factories. An unsafe Act can be defined as any activity by workers which are not as per the prescribed safety standard or practice and which can cause or likely to cause accidents or risk for self or others at workplace, damage equipments and bring losses in terms of reputations and revenue to employer.
Common danger at factory
1. Slip and trip workplace falls
Falls are an ever-present danger in the manufacturing industry. Working on high platforms, cherry pickers, ladders, or any other raised area poses a personnel risk.
2. Uncontrolled fires
Combustion and welding equipment are examples of controlled flames that can be present in a manufacturing environment. These are critical parts of many manufacturing processes, but what happens when those fires get out of control? Lives are put at risk, and that means businesses are at risk too.
Unsafe activities can lead to unsafe conditions.
3. Heavy machinery
Machinery is a key risk factor that is arguably most prevalent in the manufacturing industry. All sorts of machinery are present in the manufacturing industry. Much of this equipment is made to handle hard materials such as wood, metal, and plastic. Naturally, the effects of this equipment on human flesh can be devastating.
4. Confined spaces
Confined spaces, such as a vat or tank, present a risk of oxygen depletion danger of collapse.
5. Hazardous materials
Many industries require that workers manage and handle hazardous chemicals daily. These are often crucial elements in the manufacturing process like fuel, detergents, acid ....

Improper Use of Personal Protective Equipment [PPE]
II) Improper Use of Personal Protective Equipment [PPE]
Without PPE, employees are at risk of: -Being struck by falling objects or debris. -Impacts and collisions. -Breathing in contaminated air. -Cuts and punctures. -Chemical burns. -Electric shocks. -Exposure to excessive noise or vibration. -Projectiles or chemicals harming the eyes.
2) Some health problems
Degenerative spine
Occupational asthma
III
Use of Defective Equipment at factory
III) Use of Defective Equipment at factory
Defective Equipment means any Equipment that is unsafe or suffers from any design or manufacturing defect which could reasonably be expected to make it unsafe or not of.
Satisfactory quality, fit for its purpose or in accordance with its description.
Power source system error
The system error is not checked regularly
=> "Therefore, it is necessary to regularly check the equipment systems"
Why do workers take risks?
Little/no supervision
Poor awareness/risk perception
Human error/misjudgment
Lack of procedure
Although workers sometimes refuse to wear PPE on religious or health grounds, most refusals are due to poor management, communication and training. If workers do not understand why PPE is needed or have no say in choosing it, they are more likely to not use it.

Safety solution
Solution 1: Personal Protective Equipment [PPE] is required
Each year, accidents happen frequently in the construction industry and often times it is due to the absence of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) or failure to wear the provided PPE. PPE is equipment that will protect workers against health or safety risks on the job. The purpose is to reduce employee exposure to hazards when engineering and administrative controls are not feasible or effective to reduce these risks to acceptable levels.
Personal Protective Equipment [PPE]
Solution 2: Safety training and management
A workplace with an efficient safety training program can reduce turnover, improve productivity and morale such as - Lower insurance premiums - Less productivity loss due to illness or injury - Higher employee satisfaction - Reduced worker compensation for medical leave due to work-related injuries and illnesses - Protection from liability lawsuits - Future incident prevention.
For employer:
* Provide employee with knowledge and skills to perform their work in a way that is safe for them and their co-workers. * Make sure employees have and use safe tools and equipment and properly maintain this equipment. * Use color codes, posters, labels or signs to warn employees of potential hazards.
For employee:
* Practicing and learning factory safety skills * Aware of the risks associated with the job and how to prevent them with their knowledge of factory safety * Equipped proper gear and PPE
Solution 3: Health care for employees
- The employees in the factory must base on the articles and laws given by the factory to avoid unfortunate accidents - Employees and employers absolutely must not use drugs, alcohol while working
- Employees working at places where there are toxic and infectious factors, when working hours are over, the employer must ensure measures of decontamination and disinfection.
- Periodic health check-up sponsored by docter
Conclusion
Personal Protective Equipment [PPE] is required
It is necessary to have safety devices for protection
It is necessary to regularly check the equipment systems
We need to ensure that work equipment and systems are available and safe so that workers can operate at all times.
We need to prepare our own understanding of security for our work, we must know what we need and what to prepare to have a good work process and results.
We need to equip safety equipment before starting work
THANKS!
Have a good day !
