So here's PresentinG...

A game that allows you to terraform Mars from a planet that is: Constantly exposed to Solar Winds; without an Atmosphere ; 90% exposure to harmful radiation; completely devoid of water; containing CO2 in the form of dry ice caps and Mars minerals; minimal atmospheric Oxygen; swept by Toxic Dust Storms and a Trampoline for the ground. To a Planet that is Habitable.

To note that Two factors are to be kept in mind while terraforming Mars in theory and thus while playing the game.

  1. BIODOMES
Since the environment of Mars is that inhospitable, all the research and the projects that are to be conducted happen initially in biodomes equipped for the same. Over time if the research proves to be fruitful, then the same would be implemented through the use of not near but far future technology. 2. THE TIME To set up biodomes able to tolerate the environment of Mars, and establish the units; set up the magnetic field; build the atmosphere (CO2) ; set up an Ozone layer; convert the toxic Mars dust; to defreeze the frozen water and create new river beds; to get rid of excess CO2 by converting it to O2 and tackle the gravity problem. This may approximately take SOMEWHERE IN THE NEIGHBOURHOOD OF 200 MILLION YEARS.

For a change WALL E is the smart one and chooses an option after good consideration.

Always chooses Option 3

Always chooses Option 1, cause he does not have time

MAGNETIC FIELD

Sorry Fleming

HOW?

  1. PUT MARS IN A COIL
2.DIPOLE AT THE LAGRANGE POINT 3.NUKE MARS

UNIT 1: DIPOLE + CONVERGER Including a Converger i.e., a huge magnifing glass along with the dipole at the Lagrange point. This will ensure that the sunlight falling on it will converge at the focus of this Magnifing Glass on the surface of Mars. If this is equipped with an amplifier the Solar Energy might be put to use. How? By directing it towards the core of the Planet and using it to gradually liquify the outer core of the planet so that the magnetic field is set up.

BESIDES COVERING IT WITH A PLASTIC BAG

BREAK THE ICE?

Unit 2: HCFC Factories + Nuclear Power Plants

  • Hydro Chloro Fluro Carbons emit a lot of CO2 into the atmosphere thus slightly contributing to the atmosphereic levels
  • Nuclear Power Plants help in 2 ways
1. By contributing to the heat because of the woking of a Nuclear Power Plant which will lead to the melting of the Ice Caps. 2. Using the Effluent Super Heated Water to melt the Ice Caps.

1.USE A PICK UP LINE 2.USE UNIT 2 & UNIT 3 3.NUKE MARS

UNIT 3: Using the Converged Solar Energy

USing the Solar Energy harvested from Unit 1 with the help of an instrument to direct the energy towards the Ice Caps. This will help in melting the ice, thus releasing large amounts of CO2 trapped in the dry ice. NOTE: In unit 2 and unit 3, since large amounts of heat will be generated and circulated, this heat can be insulated with martian dust. So that, over a period of time, CO2 can be harvested from the martian Dust as well.

UV RADIATION

Sunglasses aren't gonna be enough

UNIT -4 ! Oxygen carrying satallite -

How do we protect ourselves ?

A satallite with a comparatively short geostationary orbit dispersing oxygen into the atmosphere continousily but at a slow rate .

  1. sunscreen
2.ozone 3.nuke mars (though it wont help)

As molecular oxygen is being dispersed into the atmosphere at a slow pace , it gives uv radiation a opportunity to act on it give nascent oxygen which then reacts with molecular oxygen to give ozone. Along with this the same Unit - 4 may also serve as an oxygen recycling unit .

W A T E R

atleast you can't drown on Mars

Rehydrate Mars?

1. Sweat it out2. Unfreeze the frozen water: UNIT 53. Nuke it (maybe with comets this time)

UNIT 5: Set of Nuclear Power plants:-

A set of Nuclear power plants, can be set up around the frozen Water beds. Thus thawing it. Another reason for the freesing of water, is, the uneven distribution, thus, a set of microbes called endoliths, which eat away the rocks, can be used to create new river beds.

Carbon dioxide

Well, this planet smoked too much

Too much CO2?

1. Switch to CO2 2. Convert it O2 3. Nuke it ( for no reason at all)

UNIT 6: A biodome for BG Algae

Initially a Biodome is set up which has an environment suitable for the growth of Blue Green Algae. Gradually, i.e., once the water defreezes and starts flowing Blue Green Algae can be introduced into these water bodies. So that it also confers them with a chance to adapt with martian environment.

oXYGEN

Its time for REHAB, I guess

How do we make more O2

  1. Transport O2 cylinders
2.Hire Plankton 3. Nuke Mars (maybe with comets again)

UNIT 6 Addition: Set up a biodome micro environment for E. Coli

As set up in Unit 6, set up an other biodome with environment suitable to grow Blue Green Algae. The purpose of the BG Algae being converting all the CO2 to O2. However over a period of time the same BG Algae have to be replaced by a sustainable source like E.Coli. (It was found that a new strain of E.Coli had the ability to convert CO2 to O2.

TOXIC MARS DUST

not like u can vaccum it, or maybe ...

How do you deal with it

  1. Break up with it
2.Hire WALL-E 2.0 (UNIT 7) 3. get Thanos to NUKE MARS

UNIT 7 : Multiple Mobile Units able to collect, filter and disperse Mars Dust

Two Cambered mobile unit with a connecting linkChamber 1: Vaccum Unit used to collect the Mars dust Connecting Link +vely charged surface used to separate -vely charged Perchlorates from the Martian dust. Chamber 2: Conversion unit with inbuilt H2 supply to house Alcaligenes Latus which converts inorganic matter to organic matter. The same is then dispersed into the environment. The Perchlorate thus collected is transferred to a subunit of UNIT 6 where it is reduced to O2 and Chloride by the action of Archaeoglobus Fulgidus. The O2 from this can be collected and used sustainably.

GRAVITY

Make alloys with heavy metals and transport it onto the surface of Mars.

Live in human centrifuges and transport babies from earth

What do you think we should do?

Transport a gazillion tons of waste from Earth. To increase the weight.

Nuke it but at the core this time

QUIT

Hit it with Aestroids

(Leave the Planet alone)

Thanks!

Disclaimer ( BUT AT THE END )

We are B.Sc students of Life Sciences, not professional Terraformers.

Hope you saved the planet
