In a distant time, it is said, that in the town of Altea there lived a poor old woman who was dedicated to begging.

The old woman was very believing and one day in the church ,God spoke to her and gave her a gift .

Which consisted, that every time someone went up to the pear tree to pick the fruit, he would stay up until she gave him permission to go down .
