2. WHEN DO WE USE IT?

We use the Past Simple to talk about: - Actions which took place in the past and they are already finished. I watched a movie yesterday night.
2. HOW DO WE FORM IT?

2 types of verbs: REGULARS and IRREGULARS: + AFFIRMATIVE SENTENCES: REG: subject + verb + -d/-ed + complements IRREG: subject + verb (2nd column) + complements - NEGATIVE SENTENCES: REG: subject + didn't + verb + complements IRREG: subject + didn't + verb + complements ? INTERROGATIVE SENTENCES: REG: Did + subject + verb + complements? IRREG: Did + subject + verb + complements?
REMEMBER!!! You just use "verb + -d/ed" or "irregular verb" in the AFFIRMATIVE FORM.

yesterday, ago (one month ago, one week ago...), last... (month, year...), in 1986, when...
REMEMBER!!! The time expression can be at the beginning or at the end of the sentence: I travelled to Sydney last month. Last month I travelled to Sydney.

We use the past continuous to talk about: - THINGS THAT WERE HAPPENING AT A SPECIFIC MOMENT IN THE PAST - SOMETHING THAT WAS HAPPENING CONTINUOUSLY IN THE PAST WHEN ANOTHER ACTION INTERRUPTED IT.
