- Known as the Byzantine Empire with is new capital Constantinople by Constantine in the 4th century. - Modern-day Greece, Turkey and other parts of Eastern Europe. - They were defeated by the Ottoman Empire in 1453. - From Latin to Greek. - Justinian Code as their rules.
- Various attacks on the city of Rome in the 5th century and it gradually fell. - Establishment of Kingdom of the Franks under the rule of Clovis (481 CE.) - Stronger empire with Charlemagne as King of the Franks in 800 CE & proclaimed Holy Roman Emperor (The Father of Europe). - Christianity as its religion.
- During the 11th century by the Franks used across Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
The Feudal Socity
- Feudalism is a type of social and political system in which landholders provide land in exchange for their loyalty and service.
- Monarch or emperor at the top; then lords, aristocracy and religious leaders.
- The knights and military figures. They asked for homage to the lord.
- Peasents or serfs worked the lands and paid rent to use the lands in exchange for protection, food and shelter.
