Pigs

I decided to raise pigs although they acquire so much things to raise them.

P I G P E N S

Unless it's only for young pigs, then base it on their maximum size before being moved to a different pen, as well as how many animals you'll have in the pen.

Pigpens. Like any other type of animal enclosure and are designed to give each animal sufficient space, shelter, and access to food and water. The exact size you need for your pen depends on the breed and adult size of the pigs.

P I G F E E D S

Farm grains are the most common and best source of food to feed pigs. Most typically corn-based feeds are used because they are high in digestible carbohydrates, low in fiber, and cost effective.

Pig Pens

Pig Feeds

  • Main Considerations When Building a Pigpen
  • Size
  • Panels and fences
  • Overall shelter (pig shed or hog house)
  • Feeders and waterers
  • A place for wallowing

Good pig feed contains sufficient energy, protein, minerals and vitamins. Rice bran, broken rice, maize, soya-beans, cassava, vegetables and distillers' residues are often used in pig feed. Distillery waste is much appreciated in traditional pig husbandry, especially for pigs. Broken rice contains about 8% protein
