Interactions with Environment and Geography

The Spanish at the peak of their empire with all their territories controlled The Majority of the Southern U.S and Mexico, along with most of South America excluding Brazil. The Spanish also had control over Austria under Charles the Fifth. They overthrew the Aztecs In Mexico, and The Inca Empire in South America where they established the “Viceroyalty of New Spain '' in Mexico/ Southern US, and the “Viceroyalty of Peru” in South America. Their conquest of these locations brought in many diseases from the “Old World '' into the Americas, resulting in the Indegenous population beginning to diminish. During this time the Spanish Empire consisted of Peninsulares (Born in Spain), Creoles (born in the new world-Spanish Parents), Megistos (mixed), Native Americans, and Enslaved people.
