-She was a Filipino Nurse Theorist - Dr. Carmelita A. Divinagracia was a Master of Nursing in 1975. - She received her doctoral degree in 2001, has been lauded for developing the art and competency of teaching nursing. -Dr. Carmelita A. Divinagracia was the former President of the Association of Deans of Philippine Colleges of Nursing (ADPCN) - Bachelor’s degree in Nursing at the University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center in 1962. - Master’s degree in Nursing at the University of the Philippines in 1975. - She has been lauded for developing the art and competency of teaching nursing and has been a clinic nurse, staff nurse, head nurse, instructor, assistant dean and dean.

Dr. Carmelita C. Divinagracia conducted a study to determine the effects of COMPOSURE behaviors of the advanced practitioner on the recovery of selected patients at the Philippine Heart Center. Behaviors include the following: competence, presence and prayer, open-mindedness, stimulation, understanding, respect and relaxation, and empathy.

- Pertains to the availability of the nurse in time of need not only physically but also holistically. -The utilization of therapeutic communication techniques is also included.

- Provision of motivation to the patients -Reinforcement through encouragements, affirmation, and motivation are needed
