WHAT ARE THE LINKING WORDS?

When we write a text, to give it coherence and organize the ideas we want to express, we use connectors. Connectors are words or short phrases that we use primarily to put sentences together, to add information, and to contrast ideas.

LINKING WORDS OF CONTRAST.

The contrast words that link are words that are used to contrast two ideas. For example : Although it's a tempting offer, I have to turn it down. The Linking words of contrast can be:

HOWEVERYET BUT

He is allergic to cats, yet he has one.

HOWEVERYET BUT

EVEN THOUGH ALTHOUGHTHOUGH

They often meet though they broke up a year ago.

Example: She visited her uncle. She also visited her granpa = She visited her uncle. Also she visited her Granpa / She visited her uncle. She visited her Granpa too/ as well We use either in negative sentences Example: I didn't write an email. I didn't send a report either

TIME CONNECtORS.

Time connector are a words or phrases which tells the reader when an action is happening.

Example: "Yesterday, I woke up at 8 o’clock, brushed my teeth and got dressed, next I went to school, then I played football with my friends. Finally, I had a bath and went to bed."
