how packets work
Things are made up in many bits so they are distributed in different packages so it can be delivered to the same destination even though it arrives at different times or out of order.
Information travells around the internet in IP packages, it may be similar to a car because it can take different paths if there is a congestion in one point, and also it carries many kinds of diggital information but it also has some limits.
Each package has the internet adrees from where it came from and where it´s going and thats how they travell.
IP PROTOCOL
The router keeps track of multiple paths for sending these packages. It choses the best time, politics and relationships for each piece of data based on the IP adress.Often the best route for data to travell isn´t the most direct. Thanks to these paths it makes the network fault tolerant wich means that it can always be sending packages even thought something goes wrong.
The numbers that make the address, are organized in a hierarchy. They are made by bits and they are always 32 bits long with 8 bits for each of the 4 parts part of the adress that are:

Country network

Transsmision control protocol
TCP manages the sending and receiving of all your data as packages. TCP analices all the packages and if one of them is missing, all the packages will be re-sent till it is all complete

Tim Bernerss-Lee iventions
Tim Berners-Lee first proposed the idea of a ‘web of information’ in 1989. It relied on ‘hyperlinks’ to connect documents together. Written in Hypertext Markup Language (HTML), a hyperlink can point to any other HTML page or file that sits on top of the internet.
In 1990, he developed Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) and designed the Universal Resource Identifier (URI) system. HTTP is the language computers use to communicate HTML documents over the internet, and the URI, also known as a URL, provides a unique address where the pages can be easily found.
Tim Berners-Lee also created a piece of software that could present HTML documents in an easy-to-read format. He called this ‘browser’ the ‘WorldWideWeb’.

Uniform Resource Locator
Locating computers
The Uniform Resource Locator or URL is the "address" of a computer connected to the Internet. While surfing the Web, you'll notice that there is an address or location box at the top of your browser. It's here that you'll see an individual site's address displayed. This address allows you to find the site again, should you forget to bookmark it. You can simply type the URL into the address box, press the Enter key on your computer keyboard and you'll be taken back to the site of the address.
An IP address is a unique address that identifies a device on the internet or a local network. IP stands for "Internet Protocol," which is the set of rules governing the format of data sent via the internet or local network.
In essence, IP addresses are the identifier that allows information to be sent between devices on a network: they contain location information and make devices accessible for communication. IP addresses provide a way of doing differentiate between computers, routers and websites.
Here’s how to find your local IP address in Windows 10:
4 steps to find your local IP address in Windows 10:
computer network components
A computer network is a group of two or more computers that connect with each other to share a resource. You can share printers, fax machines, scanners, network connection, local drives, copiers, and other resources. These hardware components include cable, Hub, Switch, NIC, modem and router. However, some of the parts can be eliminated , in a wireless network as you don’t need cables, hubs so on.

HUB
Hub is a device that splits a network connection into multiple computers. It is like a distribution centre. When a computer request information from a network or a specific computer, it sends the request to the hub through a cable. The hub will receive the request and transmit it to the entire network. Each computer in the network should then figure out whether the broadcast data is for them or not.

SWITCH
Switch is a telecommunication device grouped as one of computer network components. It uses physical device addresses in each incoming messages so that it can deliver the message to the right destination or port. The switch connects the source and destination directly which increases the speed of the network.
