My mother said that the dead were guiding by candles and marigold trails to reach their loved ones and enjoy an offering. She said that the spirits of the deceased children would return to their families November 1, that is why it is called the day of the little angels. My grandmother said that the deceased adults would visit us on November 2.
She said the altar could be cover and decorate with offerings including cempazúchitl; incense; sugar skulls with the name of the deceased; bread of the dead; images of saints and favorite food. She said that in the days before, families was heading to cemeteries to clean graves and add decorations and offerings such as marigolds, candles, photos, and favorite things from the diffun's life
Halloween
He said that Halloween came from the pagan Celtic festival of Samhain where the Celtic New Year was celebrated on November 1.He said that on that special night of the year, the border between the realms of life and death was lowering and spirits could explore the land of the living. They said that they used disguises to hide from the spirits that walked the earth and even disguised themselves as a spirit so that they would not harm them.
