The snow leopard has evolved to survive under the most extreme conditions on the earth. This magnificent feline was the king of the mountains. The snow leopard plays a key role as a top predator and as an indicator of the health of its high-altitude habitat. The human Hunting, habitat loss and retaliatory killings are the main reasons this big cat is under threat. Snow leopards sometimes feed sheep, goats, horses, and baby kays that are part of the livestock of local farmers, who kill the leopards in retaliation.
