Evolution of the internet
The primitive version of what we know today as the internet was called ARPANET. It was funded by United States military. It involved a computer network as a rugged medium for sending military data and connecting major research groups across the United States.
In 1972, the first form of e.mail was created by Ray Tomlinson. . He was the first to use the "at" symbol (@) for names of senders and recipients. However, unfortunately there is no record of what the first email said because Tomlinson doesn't remember.
It was October 29, 1969. A student programmer called Charley Kline sent two letters "I" and "o" to a computer over 350 miles away. The two letters stood for "login". After the computer received those letters, it crashed, but that was the birth of the internet.
In 1993 Paul Mockapetris y Jon Postel created the DNS (Domain Name System) as part of the names of websites. These domains would lay the foundations for the popularization of the Internet in the coming years
In 1989, the first internet provider appeared through the phone. It was called "The World". That same year ARPANET as such disappeared due to the ease of use and services through ISPs.
