Definition: A text that describes a particular object clearly and detail.

The descriptive text is the text that describes what kind of person or an object is like. So that the reader is able to see, hear, and experience the text seems.

The purpose of the descriptive text is clear, namely to explain, to describe or to disclose a specific individual or object.

Jam Gadang is a clock tower. It is located in central Bukit tinggi, a city in the Minangkabau Highlands of West Sumatra, Indonesia. It lies 12 km from Gadang city. Jam Gadang is a landmark of Bukittinggi. It's a Beautiful Landmark is surrounded by panoramic views. "Jam Gadang" is also well-known as Big Ben of Bukittinggi since it has the same machine as Big Ben of London. .

This 36 meter high clock tower consists of several levels, with the top level being the pendulum storage. The typical symbol of West Sumatra also has a story and is unique because it was decades old. Jam Gadang was built in 1926 by architect Yazid and Sutan Gigi Ameh. Laying of the first hour is done by first son Rook Maker at that moment still 6 years old. This clock is a gift from the Queen of the Netherlands to Controleur (Secretary of State). Jam Gadang has changed a lot. During the Dutch colonial era, above this clock stands a statue of a rooster, whereas in the Japanese occupation, it was converted into a pagoda form.
