Warm Up
Laura García Peinado 4D
The warm up is a set of activities that we carry out to activate the different parts of the body involved in the physical activity.
A good warm up has different stages that prevent us from hurting ourselves whilst performing different activities.
Streching
Mobility
Activation
Stretching increases the range of motion of the joints and is effective for the maintenance of exercise performance and flexibility.
In the activation we can focus on a given muscle. As a result, the movement system is activated both during the warm-up and proper training.
Mobility exercises uses both movement and motor control to warm up the muscles and lubricate the joints.
Warming up prevents injuries by loosening your joints, and improving blood flow to your muscles making your muscles less likely to rip, tear, or twist in a harmful way during your workout.
Specific Part
The specific part of the warm up mainly consists of a group of exercises that we perform to prepare a specific sport or activity. Typical examples include a slow jog for running, a gentle cycle for a spin class or a slow swim before building up speed in the pool.
