Part of a 2021-2022: IUPUI Center for Teaching and Learning Curricular Enhancement Grant/ DJ Oesch-Minor

The Living Lab

The Living Lab serves students with an interest computers, cybersecurity, database, web design, and programming through a unique hands-on approach

  • You'll partner with a community client to tackle an IT related challenge
  • INTERNSHIP CREDIT: You'll work a typical IT professional schedule on Friday and Saturday from 9:00-5:00

Why Register for The Living Lab?

You could be one of the first college students EVER to take a project from one class [W231/English} into another course in a different discipline [LivLab/ IT and Engineering]. This opportunity is supported by a Curricular Enhancement Grant and the work of Dr. Connie Justice and Professor Clay Hampton, computer securities gurus, in The Living Lab

  • LivLab is an INTERNSHIP ON CAMPUS
  • Experience a day-in-the life of IT/engineering professionals
  • Build independently and work at your pace with supporting consultations
  • Get access to the tools you need to build databases, websites, or
hardware [like servers]
  • Add a line to your resume with evidence that you can conceptualize, plan, build, prototype, beta test, update, and deliver

You can register for The Living Lab next semester and every semester after that if you love it. Some students do several years of LivLab projects to build an impresive resume and share space with people they like hangingout with. You can take LivLab for 1 to 6 credits. Most students register for 3 credits.
