Beowulf
A heroic tale
The story of Beowulf is a classic tale of heroism. A mighty man rises up to a challenge no one else could and wins after a struggle. This victory not only helps his people but inspires many more to be like him and rise up to a challenge (like Wiglaf does against the dragon). Beowulf is a hero because his bravery, mindfulness and leadership in the battles against Grendel, his mother and the dragon allowed him to free the land of major plagues, saving the lives of thousands of people.
