USED TO
USAGE
We use used to to talk about past actions that happened regularly in the past but are not true now. Examples: 1. He used to smoke. 2. They used to live in India. 3. I used to have long hair.
NEGATIVE FORM
The negative form of "used to" is "didn't use to" and the verb is always in infinitive without to. Examples: 1. I didn't use to do homework. 2. They didn't use to practice yoga. 3. He didn't use to eat white rice.
INTERROGATIVE FORM
The most common form of question is auxiliary did + use to. Many people consider the form with a final -d to be incorrect, and you should not use it in exams. Examples: 1. Did you use to work with Kevin Harris? 2. Did you use to live in Canada? 3. Did he use to be your boss?
