Agathon is a talented young artist. He wants to study art but his father wants him to study in Plato's academy. One day, he and his friend fall asleep in an old boat that starts to move out to the sea. Pirates captured them and sell them in the slave market in Pompeii. Agathon is a slave now. Cato helps him and Agathon becomes the teacher of Octavio, Cato's son. Suddenly, the volcano Vesuvius erupts and Pompeii is in chaos.
