03
Read the quotation and underline the key words
…no other profession requires its possessor so much skill, dedication and humanism as that of an educator, because none of them work with a more precious, more complicated and sensitive material than that of the man in development [...] Anchored in the present, foretelling the future and probing possible dimensions of personality, the educator instructs, educates, urges, directs, cultivates and organizes, corrects, perfects and evaluates the process of formation and completion of the qualities necessary for the man of tomorrow.

06
Guided Conversation and Information Delivering
Are you passionate about learning?
01
Having a career in teaching means that you never really stop learning, and teachers who demonstrate a passion for learning can get their students excited about learning, too.
Discussion
Do you enjoy working with children?
02
As an elementary or secondary school teacher, you'll be spending most of your day with kids. Being able to not only work with them but to also appreciate them as people is essential to doing your job well.
Discussion
Are you able to quickly adjust to new or unforeseen challenges?
03
As a teacher, you will need to be able to make adjustments on the fly, as you will deal with a lot of changes and unexpected challenges - curriculum changes, new administrators, new students, or a particular approach is not working for most of your students.
Discussion
Are you willing to devote time and energy outside of school hours?
04
In order to be prepared for every class, you will likely need to complete some work, such as grading or reviewing curriculum changes, in your own time. As great teachers often do, you may also get involved in leading or supporting your students in their extracurricular activities.
Discussion
05
Are you patient?
Oftentimes, your goals as a teacher will be long-term, and some students may require more help and patience than others before you begin to see the results of your hard work.
Discussion
Do you have strong organizational skills?
06
You will need great organizational skills to run your classroom and to keep all your work and learning materials in order.
Discussion
Do you excel at multitasking, organization, and planning?
07
As a teacher you will be constantly bouncing between working with multiple students, correcting and grading various assignments, and preparing future lessons and activities. To keep up with all this, along with organization you'll need excellent multitasking and planning skills.
Discussion
Do you have good written and verbal communication skills?
08
Teachers need to be able to speak well, write well, and even listen well to be the best they can be at their jobs. You should be able to communicate effectively with your students, co-workers, administrators, and parents.
Discussion
Do you enjoy public speaking?
09
Public speaking is a constant activity you will perform as a teacher. Not only will you be giving daily lessons in front of your students, but teacher conferences, videoconferences, and after school activities such as sports and clubs, should you get involved with them, are all common activities where public speaking skills will be needed.
Discussion
Do you work well with others?
10
Building good professional relationships with your co-workers and administrators so that you can collectively work to benefit your students is important to being a great teacher.
Discussion
Do you feel comfortable explaining advanced concepts?
11
Not only will you have to work with advanced concepts, such as math and science, but you will need to be able to explain those concepts clearly and concisely in order to impart them to your students in an understandable manner.
Discussion
Will you be able to pass any requisite certification test(s) in your desired subject area(s)?
12
You will need to be able to demonstrate your knowledge of your subject area in order to teach it.
Discussion
Do you have a mature, professional attitude?
13
A teacher earns respect from students and models adult behavior for them by demonstrating a mature, professional demeanor in the classroom and in all their school interactions with other teachers and administrators.
Discussion
Are you enthusiastic about helping your students learn and grow?
14
The growth that your students demonstrate is one of the rewards of being a teacher, and, with the work it requires, you must be passionate about ensuring your students learn.
Discussion
Are your technology skills up to date?
15
Not only do teachers need excellent word processing and spreadsheet skills, but they find themselves working with a variety of technology including interactive whiteboards, image editing technology, dedicated educational software, and videoconferencing software, just to name a few examples.
Discussion
Do you enjoy working with technology?
16
Technology is always changing, and what is current today will not always be so. An enjoyment of learning the latest technology will help you stay motivated to keep up to date with new and interesting teaching techniques.
Discussion
