Syntax refers to the rules for the ways in which words are combined to form phrases, clauses and sentences.
THE SENTENCE PATTERNS OF LANGUAGE
Sentence patterns are the phrases and clauses or rules that make up the structure of a sentence in order to correct and improve sentence structures for better reading comprehension.
(Subject + Transitive Verb + Indirect Object + Direct Object)
BASIC SENTENCE PATTERNS - STRUCTURE
(Subject + Transitive Verb + Direct Object + Object Complement)
An intransitive verb is an action verb that does not require a direct object or a
complement to complete its meaning.
(Subject + Transitive Verb + Direct Object)
A transitive verb has two characteristics. First, it is an action verb, expressing a doable activity
(Subject + Transitive Verb + Direct Object + Adverb)
