iNTRODUCTION MISSION 1
LONDON
Welcome to this awesome adventure that we are about to begin! In this project, we are going to travel all around the world and we are going to visit some of the most important English-speaking cities and their most outstanding tourist landmarks. In this case, we are going to travel to London, the capital city of England and of the United Kingdom. This country used to be part of the European Union, but British citizens voted Brexit on June, 2016. And of course, we are about to experience a really wonderful and funny experience of learning English.
At the end of this journey, you will have become familiar with different ways of entertainment, known what a teenager can do in London, written an opinion article about teenagers & free time. Each session of this project is going to take place in a different and famous part of this magnificent city. In each different location, there is a proposal of tasks and activities to deal with the official curriculum.

Let’s start this exciting adventure by knowing a little bit more about the city that we are going to visit in this journey. Our first stop in London is Tower bridge, one of the most famous sights in London. At the end of the task, you will have: watched a tourist video about London and answered some questions. known all the outcomes you have to produce along this journey. started thinking about what an article of opinion is and opened up your Google Sites about London.
Watch the following video and take notes. You will need them later.
Activities: Choose at least 4 of the most famous places in London. Then, using Google Earth or creating an interactive map, place them. Insert your creation in the site page (mission 1). In this task you will create at least 5 fictional Twitter posts. You will have to give your opinion about the best way of entertainment for teenagers and why. Once you are done, insert your posts in your Google site (mission 1-task 2). Grammar required: modal verbs and conditional sentences. London is the capital city of England, one of the countries in the United Kigdom. This country used to be part of the European Union, but British citizens voted Brexit on June, 2016. The British Museum At the British Museum, we are going to make one of our last stops in our visit to this superb city of London. At this museum, we can find, for example, The Rosetta Stone, which is one of the most important objects in the British Museum as it holds the key to understanding Egyptian hieroglyphs - a script made up of small pictures that was used originally in ancient Egypt for religious texts. At this museum, you can find Rooms, such as Ancient Egypt, Greece and Rome or Prehistory.

LOS ANGELES
In this mission, we are going to travel to Los Angeles, the second largest city in the United States. For sure, you will have seen most of these places before because this is the place where Hollywood film studios are and actors and actresses live.
At the end of this journey, you will have: worked on different daily topics involving American society issues. composed a mental map about one topic of American society, habits and way of life using the technique of Visual Thinking. learnt a lot of things about the city of Los Angeles, where most of Hollywood film stars live. Each session of this project is going to take place in a different and famous part of this wonderful city. Welcome to Los Angeles!
Let’s start knowing a little bit more about the city that we are going to visit in this project. Our first stop in Los Angeles is going to be Hollywood sign. The Hollywood Sign is easily recognized around the world as a symbol for Los Angeles and its entertainment industry. It was built in 1923 as a huge advert. It is illegal to approach the sign on foot but there are a lot of points nearby from where you can get a great view of this sign.

You will probably have seen most of them in a lot of films. If you need extra help, you can turn on the subtitles. Which place would you like to visit first? Which one has impressed you the most? And to any other American cities in the United States? Do you know of anybody who has visited this city or any other American cities? Let's have some fun at the theme park! You continue visiting the awesome city of Los Angeles and your next stop is at one of the biggest film studios that has been turned into a theme park: Universal Studios Hollywood. This place is still a working movie studio, and you can take a daily tour to see how they are filming in action. Then, you can also take some movie-themed thrill rides and visit CityWalk, do some shopping and finally eating at the dining promenade.

I enjoy watching basketball matches As you probably know, Los Angeles has a very famous basketball team: Los Angeles Lakers. The United States of America has the most famous Basketball league in the world: the NBA. You may have heard of some very famous basketball players in history such as Lebron James or Stephen Curry and, of course Pau Gasol, who played for Los Angeles some years ago. Visit the NBA website and choose one of the teams from the list. Each of you has to choose one of the teams and select a couple of pieces of information that you consider interesting about the team that you have selected.

Welcome to this awesome adventure that you are about to begin! In these projects, we are going to travel all around the world and we are going to visit some of the most important English-speaking cities and their most outstanding tourist landmarks. And of course, we are about to experience the really wonderful and funny experience of learning English in a collaborative way. In this project, we are going to travel to Washington D.C., the administrative capital city of the United States. Each session of this project is going to take place in a different and famous part of the this well-known city.

Great Falls Park Let's visit a National Park. Next to Washington DC, you can also visit the states of Maryland and Virginia where you can get to one of the most famous places to take a picnic and enjoy spectacular views of the Potomac River at this National Park, located just a few miles away from Washington DC. Great Falls offers a variety of activities to do such as hiking, kayaking, rock climbing, bicycling, and horseback riding. The park is also accessible from both the Maryland and Virginia sides of the river and it is very visited by both locals and tourists.

Presidents of the United States of America As you have already seen, Washington D.C. is the capital city of the United States of America. Nowadays, all presidents of the USA live in the White House in Washington D.C. It is possible that you already know some of them due to films, books or television. Take a look at the complete list of American Presidents. Each of you has to choose one of these presidents and select four important facts that happened while they were presidents. Write a tweet with the link of the page of the president you have chosen and post the outline of his presidency. Remember to use the project hashtags.

National Museum of Natural History The National Museum of Natural History is part of the Smithsonian Institution and houses a national collection of more than 125 million natural science specimens and cultural artifacts. Located on the National Mall in Washington DC, this museum is the most visited natural history museum in the world. It is also a research facility dedicated to inspiring discovery about the natural world through its exhibitions and education programs. Prepare a google site map and locate it. Create a route for me to go from a nice hotel to it. Remember I do not like going on foot.

An excursion to Alexandria You can also explore the historic town just over the Potomac River from Washington, DC. The lively area has plenty of things to do. Visit colonial houses, parks, churches, museums, shops, and restaurants. There are also a variety of fun sightseeing tours of Alexandria available which include cruises on the Potomac River, horse carriage rides, ghost tours, and historic walking tours. Alexandria is a fun place to visit and you can easily spend the whole day there.

Lincoln Memorial: Let's visit the memorial! The Lincoln Memorial, an iconic landmark on the National Mall in Washington, DC, is a tribute to President Abraham Lincoln, who fought during the American Civil War, from 1861-1865. The Memorial has been the site of many famous speeches and events since its dedication in 1922, most notably Dr. Martin Luther King, "I Have a Dream" speech in 1963. The architect Henry Bacon designed the Lincoln Memorial in a style similar to a Greek temple. The structure's 36 columns represent the 36 states in the Union at the time of Lincoln's death. A marble statue of Lincoln sits in the centre of the Memorial and the words of the Gettysburg Address and the Second Inaugural Address are inscribed on the walls.

As the task for this project is to create a video with at least five predictions for the future in the year 2050, it will be necessary to start looking for the information that you will include in your final product: You can work following the next steps: - Take a look at an article with some predictions for the year 2050. - Now, you have to look for some interesting links where you can obtain more information about what might happen in the year 2050, select the most interesting ones. - Organize the brainstorm ideas about “predictions for the future” and start thinking which five you are going to include in your final video. Include this brainstorm in your site. - Design the final version of your video with five predicitions for the future in the year 2050 you have been working on: places you will have visited, cities you will have been to, people you will have met, how will houses, museus... be, etc. - Produce a video with your five predictions for the future in 2050.
