Word linear comes from the word ‘line’

what is it?

A series of heading and sub-headings (topics and sub-topics) which written in a list like format down the page Linear notes are typically chronological outlines of a lecture or a text

Linear note-taking is great for students who prefer structure and simplicity and prefer to compartmentalize information. however, it is not suitable for visual learner because it is too basic and less visual
