She was a pioneer of labor struggles in the country. She was the first Colombian woman to participate openly in the political life of the country.
She was characterized by intense activity in favor of the workers motivated by the inhumane working conditions that occurred in the Antioquia textile industry
A great fighter
Her first public incursions began with his connection to the literary movement of the early 1920s, in Medellín.
Together with María Eastman and Fita Uribe, she led the writing of the newspaper El Correo Liberal.
