What are Indefinite Pronouns ?

They are pronouns which are used to refer to people, places or things in a general way without saying exactly who or what they are.

  • WE use "SOME" in affirmative sentences
  • It means that we don't know exactly which person, place or thing.

We use "EVERY" when we refer to "ALL" (people, place , thing) WE use it in affirmative sentences.

We use "ANY" in negative and questions

We use ANYBODY/ANYONE, ANYTHING, ANYWHERE in negative sentences when there is a negative particle ( a negative auxiliary verb ) like: isn't, didn't, can't, etc. We also use them in questions. Look at the examples

"No-one/Nobody, Nothing, Nowhere

We use them as short answer to questions or to indicate nagation in an affirmative sentence. Look at and analyze the examples

"Who did you meet yesterday?" Nobody "What do you have in your mouth?" Nothing "Where did you go for your last summer holidays?" Nowhere
