  • Produces no harmful chemicals

Economical Impact:

Why use Hydroelectricity?

Hydroelectricity is Renewable!!!

Positive

Negative

  • displace more expensive generation at fossil-fuel powerplants
  • Higher initial Costs.
  • cost in case of a failure in system.

How does it work?

  • Uses a reservoir of water and an area where water will settle into.
  • Potential energy is converted to kinetic energy to turn the blades of turbine.

  • Chalillo Dam located in Belize.

Social Impacts:

Negative

Positive
