Who & Where ?

My school

I am working in one of the biggest school of the town. We have 11 classes and 2 devices : one class for special needs children and another one for pupils who just arrived in France and don't speak and write French very well. There are two buildings. One of it welcomes Nursery, Reception, Year 1, Year 2, Year 3 pupils ; the other one welcomes : Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6 pupils. We are in "Réseau Prioritaire d'Education", so the Year 2 and Year 3 classes have got low pupils (12-15 max) than the other classes.

My class

This is my class. This year, I made a class theme on Harry Potter, so the class is decorated on this theme. Children are distributed in the four houses like in the books and films. About technologies, I work with an Interactive White Board and its computer. Children can use the other computer when they finished their task.

My experience on eTwinning

I start to be an eTwinner when I was a training teacher. In fact, I grew as a teacher with eTwinning. I have been a teacher since 2017, and every single year I made an eTwinning project (sometimes it was labellized). I change four times of school and now for 1 year! Yes, I am! I can stay in my school and don't move ! In every schools where I went I share eTwinning by doing a project on my own or with colleagues. All of the time, I explain them what is eTwinning and some of them doing now projects on their own !

This year, with Céline, one of my colleague who have got Year 4 class, we are doing a big project on ecology. We will integrate eTwinning in it in January 2022. In our school, some of the children have got (big) difficulties, it is sometimes very hard to interest them on school task. Last year, our eTwinning project motivated them to learn english. They were happy to share their presentation to the foreign schools. Some children are still speaking about it this week. Our school is not an eTwinning School at this time, but maybe at the end of the year ?!

This task was not easy for me. Reflect on the benefits on eTwinning benefits in my local community and how to promotion it take me time. I had lots of ideas and I didn't know how to organize them so I tried to use a new tool for this infographic ; Canva. That was a great idea, it permit me to organize the informations I wanted to give and discovery a fantastic tool. I think I will use it with pupils in class.

With this task, I realize that there are more french eTwinning ambassadors than I was thinking and some of them are teachers of primary schools.

This webinar permit me to discover the eTwinning group Virgilio which I did not kew before. I think that it is an interessant group for new eTwinners and older eTwinners to share and search informations.

A4 - task 2 - Support and promote eTwinning within the wider community

This task allowed me to reflect on how improve my face-to-face training with training teachers students. Maybe, this idea will involve more students to do eTwinning project and continue this after their diploma.

A4 - task 3 - Support and promote eTwinning through a featured Group: Virgilio

This task allowed me to reflect on problematics that new and older eTwinners could meet and how to help them to find a solution to their problems.

B3 - This video allowed me to reflect on the project I present on B2 and that I will do with children. Maybe actually, it is great for the teacher part but to reduce for the children part and crztivity. Maybe we could just ask them "How can we recycling our waste ?" and maybe some of them will think about creating music instruments and then what to do with it.

I found that video very interesting. With it, I reflect on my role as teacher, how I assest the children, and how I can improve my teaching methods.

I found this video on collaborative reading very interesting. I reflect on the methods I use in class to do litteracy and maybe I could keep my method but adapt it to make it more collaborative and to help more the children in difficulties.

This video allow me to reflect on how I involve children in learning. I consider my class as laboratory so when I have an idea, I test it. I think I will try this for children to and allow them to test more things in class or develop more their ideas to learn.
