Summary

.The story tells that in the summer of 1840 in Paris a man met an interesting boy named August Dupin, son of a family that was famous and wealthy. One day looking for the same book the two met and began to talk. August told his whole story about how he did not care about money and he invited Dupin to stay at his house, because he was not happy alone. Dupin was a lover of the night and had an incredible reasoning, one night he commented: men have windows over their hearts and that allows me to see their souls, nobody spoke and Dupin agreed with something that he just said in his thoughts. Reading the newspaper one morning, they came across the news that Mrs. L ’Espanaye and her daughter had been murdered on Rue Morgue. Police and neighbors knocked on the door but no one answered, they forced the door and ran up to the fourth floor, they heard two voices coming from inside, they entered and saw something horrible a destroyed room, everything was broken, there was blood everywhere, there was a bloody knife on it. the floor and the body of the girl where the smoke from the chimney comes out the body was still hot and had marks on the neck that could give away the murderer, in the back of the building was Mrs. L'Espanaye without a head, they reading that They went to investigate the case, they did not know how the murderer left the house if all the windows were intact and they thought he was a madman because of the manner of the murder, but he was discarded, there were clues that were: gray hair, hand marks on the girl's neck. They checked once more how he escaped and found an exit that was not very safe, Dupin did not know it but his partner made him realize that a human would have died if he had jumped from the fourth floor, he said it was a large animal or a human That he had had very good training, they saw the impressions of the forence of the neck marks Dupin made his partner put his hands but the marks were larger than a normal hand and that's when they realized that he was an orangutan the next day they saw in the newspaper: CAPTURED! An orangutan will not be returned to the sailor (its owner) until he shows proof that it belongs to him. Dupin called the sailor the wine, Dupin said that he would pay him for the information of the murder the man was scared but Dupin told him that he knew that the It was not the murderer, he knew it was the animal. The man began to tell that he found the orangutan on an island in Borneo he found it with his partner, his partner died so now it was his he had him locked up so one day, he returned home and he saw the animal playing with a knife, he ran out of the house and the orangutan followed him but when he left he ran he saw the light on from Mrs. L'Espanaye's house, he climbed up to the window and he followed him saw how he killed the girl and as he decapitated Mrs. L'Espanaye, he came out horrified and so they knew that one voice was from the orangutan and another was from the sailor.

Narra la historia que en 1840 el verano en París un señor conoció a un interesante muchacho llamado August Dupin, hijo de una familia que era famosa y adinerada. Un día buscando el mismo libro los dos se encontraron y empezaron a hablar, August contó toda su historia de cómo a él no le importaba el dinero .El invito a Dupin a quedarse en su casa, pues él no era feliz solo. Dupin era un amante de la noche y tenía un razonamiento increíble, una noche el comentó: los hombres tienen ventanas sobres sus corazones y eso me permite ver sus almas, nadie hablo y Dupin estaba de acuerdo con algo que su compañero solo dijo en sus pensamientos. Leyendo el periódico una mañana se encontraron con la noticia que en la calle Rue Morgue habían asesinado a la señora L’Espanaye, y a su hija. Policías y vecinos tocaron la puerta pero nadie respondía ,forzaron la puerta y subieron corriendo al cuarto piso , escucharon dos voces provenientes de adentro , entraron y vieron algo horrible un cuarto destrozado ,todo estaba roto ,había sangre por todos lados ,había un cuchillo ensangrentado en el piso y el cuerpo de la chica estaba por donde sale el humo de la chimenea ,el cuerpo seguía caliente y tenía marcas en el cuello que podrían delatar al asesino , en la parte posterior del edificio estaba la señora L’Espanaye sin cabeza , ellos leyendo eso fueron a investigar el caso , no sabían cómo el asesino salió de la casa si todas las ventanas estaban intactas y pensaron que era un loco por la forma del asesinato , pero fue descartado, habían pistas que eran: unos cabellos grises y marcas de manos en el cuello de la chica . Verificaron una vez más como escapó y encontraron una salida que no era muy segura , Dupin no lo sabía pero su compañero lo hizo caer en cuenta, que un humano hubiera muerto si hubiera saltado desde el cuarto piso ,debió haber sido un animal grande o un humano que haya tenido un buen entrenamiento , vieron las impresiones del forense de las marcas del cuello, Dupin hizo poner a su compañero las manos para compararlas, pero las marcas eran más grandes que una mano normal y ahí fue cuando se dieron cuenta de que fue un orangután ,al siguiente día vieron en el periódico: CAPTURADO! un orangután no será devuelto al marinero(su dueño) hasta que demuestre pruebas de que le pertenece .Dupin llamo al marinero, él vino y Dupin dijo que le pagaría por la información del asesinato el hombre se asustó pero Dupin le dijo que él sabía que él no era el asesino ,sabía que era el animal .El hombre empezó a contar que encontró al orangután en una isla de Borneo, lo encontró con su compañero, su compañero murió así que ahora era suyo, lo tenía encerrado así que un día ,volvió a su casa y vio al animal jugando con un cuchillo , salió corriendo de la casa y el orangután salió tras de él y en el camino tomo otro rumbo, vio prendida la luz de la casa de la señora L’Espanaye , trepo hasta la ventana y él marinero lo siguió, vio como mato a la chica y como decapitó a la señora L’Espanaye ,salió horrorizado y así supieron que una voz era del orangután y otra era del marinero.
